What is Cosmic Champs?

Cosmic Champs is a F2P (free to play), P2E (play-to-earn), RTS (real time strategy) game powered by the Algorand blockchain and developed by the Mad Shapes studio. Cosmic Champs is the first P2E game featured on Algorand developed in the Unity engine. The game utilizes stunning 3D models and battlefields, online multiplayer capabilities, and rewards players for play.

Cosmic Champs has a mobile first development focus. Therefore you can expect to crush the competition on the go, where ever you are, on an Android or iOS device this winter. Have no fears as a desktop release is in development for a later date.

Cosmic Champs is not your average RTS as it incorporates elements from collectible card and tower defense games. Players will be thrown into PvE or PvP battles with friends... or foes in hopes to earn some precious $COSM (Cosmic Matter) which could then be utilized in game.

In my opinion Cosmic Champs is the hottest project hands down on the Algorand blockchain; as of now $COSG (Cosmic Gold) holds the title of Highest Total Value of any ASA (Algorand standard asset) on the block. Cosmic Champs launched their Governance Token $COSG, Apr 20th 2022, with a TVL of $650,000 (approximately) and closed today, Sep 16th 2022, at $1.2M.

Do I Need to Be a Crypto Guru to Play Cosmic Champs?

The short answer is No.

Cosmic Champs is designed to be accessible to all players regardless of their crypto status. The game is free to play, there are no upfront costs, there is no need to buy NFTs. You will start the game with a full deck of free champs and a free ship (non-NFT). In addition you can also earn regular champs by winning battles.

Users that don't have a crypto wallet can still play the game and earn $COSM. The rewards you do earn will be held in a custodial wallet for you to be utilized in game or sent to a wallet that you set up in the future.

If you are a crypto enthusiast you will simply connect your wallet to the game and voila your rewards will be sent to your wallet for you to be used in what ever way you see fit.

What types of NFTs are available?

There is a plethora of NFTs currently available for Cosmic Champs at the moment and more coming in the near future. Currently champs and ships are the only ones available to trade or purchase.

Champs

Cosmic Champs are the precious units you send to the battlefield to strategically dominate your opponents. Cosmic Champs can be won in battle, purchased with $COSG, upgraded with $COSM, and traded on the market or with friends.

There are many characters to choose from. These characters vary in classification, attack types, attack target, movement type, hit types, stats, and finally guilds.

Classification: Standard, Group, Ranged, Faster, and Large units.

Attack Type: Melee and Ranged

Attack Target: Air, Anything, Ground.

Movement Type: Ground and Air.

Hit Type: Multi and Single.

Stats: Attack Range, Attack Speed, Attack Damage, Movement Speed, Hit Points, and Energy Cost.

Guilds: Heavy Industries, Scrappers, Misfits and Mercenaries, and the Intergalactic Federation.

Ships

Space Ships will act as a base of operation and transport your Champs to the planet where the battle is taking place. Ships buff your Cosmic Champs with a combat boost, while your champs are battling your ship will orbit the planet and mine Steel Chips.

Planets

When players queue for battle they will be sent to a randomly selected planet to duke it out. Despite random selection battles will be spread across all planets evenly (approximately). 

Planets holders will get a portion of the spoils in $COSM from each battle that takes place on the planet.

What are the different coins used for?

$COSG

Cosmic Gold will be to purchase Skins and Cosmic Champs. $COSG will be used for governance. You can even stake your $COSG on staking platforms to increase your stash of $COSG.

Cosmic Gold will give you the opprotunity to earn Cosmic Tickets which you can be utilized to win NFTs or more $COSG.

Cosmic Gold will be used for entering in in-game tournaments.

$COSG will also be used for fees when minting NFTs.

$COSM

Cosmic Matter will be used to upgrade your champs and purchase consumables.

Steel Chips

Steel Chips will be used to purchase Space Ship Blueprints which will afford you the ability to mint new NFT ships. Which can then be traded on the market place or stored in your wallet for a boost to your Steel Chip mining rate.

When Can I Play Cosmic Champs?

The Closed Beta starts Sep 29th 2022.  To gain access to the Closed Beta you will need a Beta Access Token.  Beta access tokens will be distributed to all season 1 NFT holders prior to the Wallet Snapshot taken this month. 

If you have the patience or you are short on capitol Open Beta will start in Mid October 2022 and is free for all to participate whether or not you have an NFT.

Official Launch is expected to happen between December 2022 - January 2023.
